It is early summer in the Nekushiro Plains of Hokkaido. A scientist, Ogata, who was dispatched to the same research institute, meets a 14-year-old girl, Maya, in a fog-shrouded forest. The two gradually become friends. However, one day, as the end of summer vacation approaches, Ogata's lover, Tomonori, comes to visit.
