Inhabiting an enormous crack in the earth of Arequipa, the ashlar quarry workers extract the material with which to build a city that is alien to them. Migrants who have been dragged there by a cursed wind travel their uprooting, leaving their strength, their dreams and their lives in that quarry of volcanic stone.
