Lima, 1930s. Rodrigo, a 26-year-old Trujillo youth, decides to "ask for the hand" of his girlfriend Beatriz, a 32-year-old girl from Lima who has a reputation as a witch in her neighborhood due to the strange circumstances surrounding the deaths of her previous boyfriends. The afternoon in which the commitment must be formalized Beatriz receives Rodrigo with some chocolates that she has prepared and that contain the mystery of the deaths. Warned by the mother of Beatriz, Rodrigo refuses to eat the chocolates, but this is required as a test of love. The young man will then discover the reason for everything and, when abandoning his attempt, he will suffer a mishap that will bring him death, thus fulfilling the design of his fate.
