Stevie, Carole, and Lisa form “The Saddle Club” as they come together with a commitment to take care of each other and be crazy about horses forever. The girls and their fellow students are taken on an overnight camping trip with their horses. Lisa, less experienced than the others, struggles with fitting in, overprotective parents, and Veronica’s manipulative behavior. When Veronica goes riding solo and ends up lost and in danger, the others stage a risky rescue to save her.
