Lieko Shiga’s Canary is a slideshow-like video work composed of thousands of photographs originally shot for her photobook Canary. The shutter speed dictates the rhythm—images flicker and vanish in rapid succession. It’s not cinema, nor is it still photography, but an experiment in the velocity of seeing.
