Yuzo (Ito Takeshi) abandons his family and lives with his mistress Saeko (Masaki Sawa). Despite being on the verge of turning fifty and still in part-time employment, he prefers to chase dreams rather than face reality. One day, Saeko falls for a young man she meets on the street, and disappears.
