Environmental activist Anna Wagner travels to the place of her childhood. Although she hasn't spoken to her father in more than 20 years, she takes care of everything that needs to be done after his death. When she arrives in idyllic Hückeskirchen, she not only meets the estate manager and many memories, but also the town's mayor, Bea Westkamp: her former best friend, with whom, as a teenager, she set out to conquer the world.
