Two very different groups of guests are waiting for the bride and groom outside the registry office in St. Pauli. Engineer Isabel and ex-convict Ivo have an unusual connection. After a stroke, Isabel's father Ernst needs care. Isabel meets Ivo by chance and hires him as a domestic help. The two come from completely different worlds, but it doesn't take long for the spark to ignite. Although Isabel is completely smitten with Ivo, he is hiding something from her.
