Farhan, who is in his second year of university studies, returns to his village. During that semester break, Farhan is engaged to Khairina, his neighbor and girlfriend since secondary school. However, a week after their engagement ceremony, Husin, Farhan's father, dies while returning from the sea. Since Husin has been the one responsible for supporting the family, Farhan decides to stop his studies in order to take care of his mother and make way for his younger brother, Syakir, to begin his university education.
