The story tells of a woman named Che Aminah from Penang who is considered 'unlucky' by the villagers. After marrying Ramlee, she is betrayed. Following their divorce, Che Aminah meets Johan and begins to find new spirit. She then learns to read and becomes the first female teacher at a school in Seberang Perak in the 1900s.
