This story is about two orphaned girls from a village who are brought to live with a distant relative in the city. Throughout the film, the relative is trying to decide whether to keep them or to hand them over to an orphanage. It is also about the boy Kolka, who has a dream that is completely incomprehensible to adults, which is driving his cantankerous grandmother up the wall.
