Posthumously completed film trilogy, conceived during the 1970s and left incomplete at the time of Abdelsalam's death in 1986, the trilogy reflects his lifelong mission of reconnecting modern Egyptians with the spiritual, cultural, and philosophical legacy of ancient Egypt. The work consists of three short films—The Fortress, The Dandarawiya, and The Tragedy of the Great House – Akhenaten—which examine ancient Egyptian civilization, religious thought, and humanity's search for meaning.
