Tatyana Viktorovna Gizatullina is an English teacher from the city of Bugulma, where everything seems to be forever stuck between the past and the future. After a series of failures, she desperately turns to space with a request for a miracle - and suddenly the news spreads around the city: the first Bugulma cosmonaut Sergey Lysov, her classmate, is returning home after 25 years.
