Year 1920. A well known singer Zinaida Casarosa arrives in a small provincial town with a concert program. Her admirer Svechnikov invites her to sing at an Esperanto club. During the concert she is shot dead by an unknown person. It is Svechnikov's duty to find out the name of the killer. The mystery of her death becomes no less complicated that her life.
