The story is about beautiful Thongprakai or "Thongdee," a girl who goes to live in Bangkok in search for a better life. Despite getting involved with several doting men, sustained happiness alludes her. Their interest seems shallow, and she must ponder whether her beauty is more of a curse than a blessing.
