At the heart of the story is Amiraga, a Roma boy from a neighborhood in Niš who ends up in a Belgrade home for children without parental care. Different rules prevail there—the children themselves establish the hierarchy and laws, while friendship, violence, first love, betrayal, and brotherhood intertwine in a world where the struggle for one's own identity is often a fight for survival.
